Questions
Good to know
Does free membership cost anything?
No. Joining costs nothing. You only pay for the sessions, courts and coaching you choose to book.
Do I need to be a member to book a court?
No. Preston Park's eight courts are public, pay & play, and anyone can book them. Free membership adds the social side: sessions, people to play with, and Clashpoint or PicklePoint.
How do I book a court with floodlights?
Book an evening slot on the LTA court booking, up to 7 days ahead. You'll get a gate code with your booking, and the lights are on for evening play.
I'm not very good. Is that a problem?
Not at all. Most of our members are beginners or coming back after years away. We put you with players at a similar level, so every game is a good one.
Can I come to a social session on my own?
That's the whole idea. Most people arrive on their own. A host will introduce you and you'll leave knowing people to play with.
How much is a social session?
Our weekly socials are £10. Special events, like the American Doubles Tournament, are priced on their page. You pay for each session when you book it.
What is pickleball?
A paddle sport played mostly in doubles on a smaller court. It's easy to pick up in your first session and very sociable, which is why it's the fastest-growing sport in the country.
What are Clashpoint and PicklePoint?
They're how we match people: Clashpoint for tennis, PicklePoint for pickleball. Each gives you a profile and a rating that grows as you play, shows you players at your level, and lets you message them to arrange a game. Both are included in your free membership.
How do I book junior coaching?
Junior coaching is run by Tennis Tigers. Their website lists every course with term dates, and you book and pay there. Holiday camps are on the Tennis Tigers website too. Questions: 07531 879404.
How does group coaching work?
Adult group coaching is booked through OneTennis. Create a free account, then choose a monthly plan that includes group sessions.
